Who we are

About us

LH2 Shipping AS is a maritime technology company accelerating the industrial adoption of liquid hydrogen (LH₂) as a zero-emission marine fuel. We develop scalable vessel concepts and integrated fuel solutions designed to enable deep decarbonisation of short- and medium-sea shipping.

Founded to move hydrogen propulsion from demonstration to deployment, LH2 Shipping builds on our first-mover experience in real-world LH₂ vessel implementation. Our focus is not proof-of-concept — it is standardisation, industrial scale and commersial viability.

We operate at the intersection of ship design, cryogenic fuel systems, regulatory frameworks, and hydrogen value chains. By aligning vessel development with parallel build-out of fuel supply and bunkering infrastructure, we aim to de-risk projects and create bankable zero-emission transport solutions for Northern Europe and beyond.

Our Vision

A zero-emission maritime sector fully aligned with global climate goals, operating safely, reliably and at industrial scale.

Our Values

Our values shape our engineering, our partnerships, and our execution as we develop the next generation of zero-emission vessels.

Reliable in action, transparent in partnership, innovative in solutions, and determined in achieving zero-emission solutions.

Visionary drive, demonstrated change leadership, real impact.

Our Mission

Decarbonisation shipping by offering zero-emission solutions.

Utilising liquid hydrogen (LH₂) as ship fuel, LH2 Shipping shall, together with partners, contribute to the development of a sustainable, innovative, reliable, safe and cost-effective global shipping industry.

Taking leadership, advancing proven technology.

Through our project portfolio, LH2 Shipping both establishes industry insight and helps create the market.

Integrating business goals with EU and IMO policy on zero emission shipping, we assist clients to meet future requirements and becoming future proof.

“The EU’s regulatory framework will significantly improve the business case for zero-emission vessels, especially after 2030 when CO2 emission fees are due to increase. The combination of the EU emissions trading system, the FuelEU Maritime regulation and the delayed yet expected introduction of a net-zero framework at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) builds the business case for cleaner fuels.”
